HOLY SPIRIT, THE NOISE MAKER

HOLY SPIRIT, THE NOISE MAKER Tayo Onaleye Acts 2.2  Suddenly, a sound like the roar of a mighty windstorm came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down from heaven with a very big noise. Why???? P U B L I C I T Y ! Publicity Publicity Publicity!!!! The HOLY SPIRIT could have come to fill the disciples quietly, after all He is the still small voice. But He didn't. Rather He made a lot of noise. Why??? The Holy Spirit made a lot of noise so as to get the attention of people!!!!!!!!! Acts 2.6  Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.  The HOLY SPIRIT used noise to gather the multitude!!! Please permit me to use human language..... The Holy Spirit is a "noise maker" for the kingdom! He made noise to pull in the crowd.

THE MISSING LINK

THE MISSING LINK Tayo Onaleye If you're a leader worth your salt in this age you would have read books by John Maxwell and such excellent authors on people skills. You would have learnt how to treat people well, love people, honour people, respect people, build and develop people, work with teams, reward people, retain people etc But as good as all these are they are not enough. There's something very vital missing in your people skills arsenal: how to handle difficult relationships. That all relationships would be smooth is a myth. That some relationships would be tough is a given. So how do you deal with Korah, Dathan and Abiram? How do you handle Absalom, Miriam and Demas. Sometimes in life it is these challenging relationships that will define your success or failure just as Absalom singlehandedly overthrew the sweet Psalmist of Israel, the man after God's heart, the anointed of of the Most-High, David. Your leadership education, development and skill is funda

PUT ONLY RUNNERS ON YOUR TEAM

PUT ONLY RUNNERS ON YOUR TEAM Tayo Onaleye John 20.1-4 Team building is a major function of leadership. And broadly speaking, there can just be only two types of people on any team: those who are running with the vision and those who are not. It takes running to actualize any vision. Hab 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said,Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  Only those who are running with the vision will help actualize it. Those on the team who are not running with the vision will eventually ground it. Mat 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Running with the vision symbolises PASSION. Hence only those who are passionate about the vision will actually pay the price to see it materialise. Every vision faces challenges. Only those who are passionate about the vision will stick with it for the long haul. Those who are not passionate about the vision fall

STAND BY PEOPLE GOING THROUGH CHALLENGES

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder and Wealth Creation Agent STAND BY PEOPLE GOING THROUGH CHALLENGES Tayo Onaleye John 19.25  Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene Three young men were publicly and shamefully executed. Two of them were confirmed robbers. The third, the one in the middle wasn't really a criminal but he was being executed in a shameful manner. Nobody wanted to associate with such ignominious death. Yet..... His mother,  two other women and a disciple stood by him. They stood by His cross. Oh! How comforting, encouraging and reassuring that would have been for Jesus! His mother stood by Him! Two other women stood by Him. One of His disciples stood by Him. Life is challenging. People are going through things. People are fighting multiple battles on many fronts. People are carrying heavy crosses. Some are being crucified live by situations and circumstances

YOUR TEAM MEMBERS WILL CATCH UP LATER

YOUR TEAM MEMBERS WILL CATCH UP LATER Tayo Onaleye John 13.7 ISV Jesus answered him, “You don’t realize now what I’m doing, but later on you’ll understand. Peter was shocked that Jesus could "stoop so low" as to wash his feet. So Peter resisted Jesus washing Peter's feet. Then Jesus responded: Peter, for now you may not understand what I'm doing but later, you will.  A leader sees before and beyond others. As the leader, there are things you're seeing that some members of your team are not. So naturally..... There are things you do based on what you're seeing but because they are not yet seeing it yet, they may not understand it or may not buy into it. Try to communicate as effectively as you can. Seek buy-in as much as you can. But...... In case some of  your team members are not yet seeing some of the things you're seeing..... Like Jesus, calmly explain to them..... "You don’t realize now what I’m doing, but later on yo

THE SECRET IS TEAM WORK

THE SECRET IS TEAM WORK Tayo Onaleye Genesis 11  1  And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.   6  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 1. TEAM WORK IS THE MASTER-KEY TO GREAT ACHIEVEMENT Have you ever wondered how some individuals or organisations achieve so much and make such huge impact? It's not just the great vision or great work ethic. The unsung secret to their impact is one word: TEAM Nothing great has ever been achieved by a single individual acting alone. Pro 14:28 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince. A great dream without a great team to match is only a pipe dream. Acting alone, you can do quite much but not so much. Acting alone, you are very limited but with a team you're almos

DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL

DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL Tayo Onaleye John 13. 2  And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; There are times people close to you betray you. There are times people close to you attack you. Please don't take it personal because.... Sometimes, like it happened to Jesus, "it is the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;" It's the devil at work! On such occasions you can truly say that, "an enemy has done this. Matthew 13.28. Don't take it personal "lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you," Hebrews 12.15 If you listen beyond the individual you will often be able to discern that, "The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau." Genesis 27.22 It's the devil speaking through them! God blesses man through man, the devil too attacks man

FOUR REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD QUICKLY LET GO OF STAFF WHO DON'T FIT

ENTREPRENEURSHIP: FOUR REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD QUICKLY LET GO OF STAFF WHO DON'T FIT Tayo Onaleye 1. SAVE HER The staff herself knows it. She's out of place. It's not working. But she's doesn't have the courage to quit. Help her out. Let her go so she can move on with her life and find where she truly belongs. Don't be surprised if she turns a superstar on another team. If you've done all you could to assist her fit and it's not working......Let go of her. 2. SAVE YOURSELF He knows he doesn't fit on your team. You know it too. But for whatever reason you're not addressing the issue head-on. You wake up at night and worry about what to do with him. You discuss him with your spouse and your friends. You've done everything in the books on assisting him but it's still not working. And you still refuse to let him go. Save yourself some headache my dear. If it ain't working, it ain't working. Accept this reality

NEVER GIVE UP

TEXT: Luke 1.5-25 TOPIC: God is faithful 1. NEVER GIVE UP. Luke 1.7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. Even though Zechariah and his wife Elisabeth were both old, they still had hope in God for a child. They still kept praying to God. Never give up. Don't stop praying. Don't stop expecting the best. There is hope. Ecc 9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. Never give up because the moment you give up on the inside, the game is over. 2. THERE IS NOTHING GOD CANNOT DO God gave a child to a couple who were old people! Luke 1.7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. Luke 1.13  But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. Romans 4.17...... God quickens the dea

WHO DO YOU HAVE TO SHOW?

WHO DO YOU HAVE TO SHOW? When you stand before God to give account of your life, one question God will ask you is this: *who do you have to show* for your life? If all you can show for your life is houses, cars, money, clothes, shoes how are you different from the gentiles? Who do you have to show? Who have you brought to Jesus? Who have you labored over in prayers? Who have you counseled? Who have you mentored? Who have you raised? Who hand you nurtured? Who will you take by the hand and say "I brought this person along with me to heaven? Who and who will shout for joy that they escaped hell because of you? On the last day..... *WHO* you have you show will count far more than *WHAT* you have to show. Let us continue to labour for the Lord. Let us continue bringing people up Jesus. Let us continue nurturing the saints for Jesus. 1Cor 15.58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, *always abounding in the work of the Lord*, forasmuch as ye know

BE VERY DECISIVE WITH BAD BEHAVIOR

BUSINESS WISDOM HR MANAGEMENT: *Lesson:  Be very decisive with bad behavior* By Tayo Onaleye For years I wondered why Jesus didn't fire Judas despite the fact the Jesus knew Judas was a thief!😳🙈🙊🙉 Joh 12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because *he was a thief*, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.  Then it dawned on me...... Rom 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning..... Why did Jesus harbour a thief on his team? For our learning. Is it so that we too can breed thieves and robbers? Definitely not. The reason Jesus didn't fire Judas is this: *The thief you don't fire today will kill you tomorrow!* Judas graduated from not just stealing from the bag to actually *selling his Master!* The traitor you don't fire today will sell you tomorrow. The disloyal staff you don't show the door today will get you crucified tomorrow. Don't dilly-dally on bad behavior. Deal with it quic

GO FOR GOLD IN PEOPLE, GO FOR GOLDEN PEOPLE

BUSINESS WISDOM: Go for gold in people. Go for golden people. By Tayo Onaleye Andrew Carnegie, a billionaire, was once asked how he developed so many millionaires to work for him. At one time he had 43 millionaires working for him. Carnegie noted that they weren’t millionaires when they started working for him.   He then said, “Dealing with people is a lot like mining for gold … when you mine for gold, you must literally move tons of dirt to find a single ounce of gold. However, you do not look for the dirt — you look for the gold.” Application 1. Develop the gold in your staff. Grow them. Groom them. Invest in them. Turn your organisation to a people development factory. You don't build the business; you build the people and the people build the business. There's gold in your staff. Go for it. Bring it out.  2. Let go of staff who refuse to be golden. It's grow or go. Shape up our ship out. Hire slowly but fire fast.

ALIGN WITH PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE YOU

TOPIC: *ALIGN WITH PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE YOU* TEXT:  Luke 1.39-44 39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;  40  And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.  41  And it came to pass, that, *when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:*  42  And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.  43  And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  44  For, lo, *as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.*  45  And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord *Point 1. GOD INSPIRES MAN THROUGH MAN* Elisabeth was inspired when she heard *the voice* of Mary. The baby in her womb leaped at the sound of the voice of Mary. V44 There

GIVE TO YOUR PASTOR

*IT'S TIME TO GIVE TO YOUR PASTOR* By Tayo Onaleye If you and your family have been blessed by the ministry of your pastor, then you need to be a blessing back to him/her. WHY? *1. Giving to your pastor is commanded in scripture.* Galatians 6:6 EasyEnglish version........Everyone who is learning God’s message from a teacher *should give good things to that teacher.* Every learner should give some of all the good things that he has to his teacher. ISV...........The person who is taught the word *should share all his goods with his teacher.* KJV...........Let him that is taught in the word *communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.* Num 35:2  *Command* the children of Israel, *that they give unto the Levites*  of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shallgive also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them. 2Ch 31:4 Moreover he *commanded* the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to *give the portion of the priests and the Levi

Church leadership is not by election

Online Bible study By Tayo Onaleye Focus: The book of 1Kings Passage: 1Kings 8.16 *Principle: I chose David to be over my people Israel.* 1Kings 8.16 There's a basic principle of Christian leadership that *differentiates us* from civil, corporate or political leadership. The principle is this: *God is the one who sets people in offices in the body of Christ.* Unlike in the world where people campaign, lobby, rig, manipulate and kill to occupy positions, *leadership in the body of Christ is by divine ordination.* 1Sa 12:6 And Samuel said unto the people, *It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron*.......... God chose Moses to lead. God chose David to lead. God is still the one who chooses those He wants to lead us today. Application of this principle: 1. Don't play pranks to get into leadership positions in the church. If God has not placed you in that office you will simply be an impostor. 2. Give appropriate honor and respect to those God has set in positions

It may take time.....The Word will not fail

Online Bible study By Tayo Onaleye Focus: The book of 1Kings Passage: 1Kings 8  56  Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, *according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant* *LESSON: GOD IS FAITHFUL* This verse states that every promise of God to the Israelis through Moses was fulfilled. Every one of them. *Application* *1. GOD IS STILL FAITHFUL* He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He was faithful yesterday. He is still faithful today. Psalm 89.34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Isaiah 55.11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Jer 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, ........... I will hasten my word to perform it. *2. THE PROMISE IS FOR AN APPOINTED TIME

Build people, don't use them

Online Bible study By Tayo Onaleye Focus: The book of 1Kings Passage: 1Kings 9.15 1Ki 9:15 And this is the reason of the *levy* which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, *and his own house*, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer *LEADERSHIP LESSON: DON'T USE PEOPLE, BUILD THEM* Solomon was an extremely wise king. God gave him unusual economic and political insight in many ways. Solomon was the one who laid the foundation of *taxation* as a means of generating massive income for government. He built a phenomenal temple and personal mansion all from the proceeds of *an efficient tax system.* There had been various forms of taxation and levies before him but he took it to a whole new level and systematised it.   There are economies that run today primarily on the effectiveness of taxation. It can be traced back to Solomon. *But Solomon made a very big mistake*......... *He used his office as king to serve personal int

The true essence of leadership

Online Bible study Tayo Onaleye *TOPIC: SERVICE IS THE TRUE ESSENCE OF LEADERSHIP* Focus: 1 Kings Text: 1 Kings 9.6,7  6  And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?  7  And they spake unto him, saying, *If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them,* and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever. One of the greatest problems facing Nigeria and most other developing nations is a very clear lack of understanding of the purpose of leadership. Most of such leaders, political and spiritual, see their leadership positions as a platform for sorting themselves out. So without any remorse they use their offices to better their own lives at the expense of the people under their leadership. *APPLICATION* *1. Leadership is a trust to serve people.* That leadership position is not about *you*......it'

Resolving conflicts

BIBLE STUDY Tayo Onaleye THE BOOK OF FIRST KINGS TOPIC: RESOLVING BROTHERLY CONFLICTS TEXT: 1Kings 12.24  24  Thus saith the LORD, *Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel:*.......... In school they taught us the basic characteristics of living things..... Movement. Respiration. Nutrition. Irritability. Growth. Excretion. Reproduction. I would like to add one more: *CONFLICTS!* Where two or more are gathered there's bound to be differences which can develop into disagreements that can further deteriorate into conflicts. Disagreements are bound to happen but whether we allow them to deteriorate into conflicts and how well we resolve such conflicts when they happen are real tests of love and leadership. So how do we resolve conflicts among the brethren? There's a basic *kingdom mindset* we must have on this issue and the mindset is this:  *Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren.....* Has someone hurt you in the church?

TREAT PEOPLE WELL

Online Bible study Tayo Onaleye Focus: 1 Kings Text: 1Kings 12.12-16 *Topic: TREAT PEOPLE WELL* 1 Kings 12.  12  So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.  13  And *the king answered the people roughly,* and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;   14  And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father alsochastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.  15  Wherefore *the king hearkened not unto the people;* for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.  16   *So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying*, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: *to your tents, O Israel:*now see to thine

TOPIC: THE COVENANT KEY OF GROWTH

*TOPIC: THE COVENANT KEY OF GROWTH* Luke 1. 80  And the child *grew*, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel. Genesis 26. 13  And the man waxed great, and went forward, and *grew* until he became very great:  Christianity is a covenant between God and man. And this covenant operates on *keys* Things work for you in God's kingdom to the degree that you apply the keys of the kingdom/covenant. Matthew 16.19  And I will give unto thee *the keys of the kingdom* of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. *Growing* is one of the keys of the covenant. The covenant key of growth means that even though you  are  blessed, you cannot experience the fullness of the blessing in the kingdom *unless you grow* Galatians 4.  1  Now I say, That the heir, *as long as he is a child,* differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of al

The riches of your lineage

*TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING YOUR SPIRITUAL LINEAGE AND HERITAGE* Texts: Luke 2.4  4  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because *he was of the house and lineage of David:)* Joseph......was of *the house and lineage of David* Psa 16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have *a goodly heritage.* Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of *the household of God;* 1. As a Christian you must understand your *lineage* and *heritage.* Through faith in Jesus you have become connected to the family of God. John 1. 12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: You now belong to the lineage of the God of heaven God is now your Father. And there are certain rights and privileges  (your heritage) that accompany your connection to the Father.

Tithing and revelations

*ACCESS TO REVELATIONS* Tithing and revelation Malachi 3.10 Bring ye all the *tithes* into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not *open you the windows of heaven,* and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enoughto receive it. My emphasis..... *Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse......if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing.....* God says that when you tithe, He, among other things,  opens the windows of heaven and pours out a blessing. What is that blessing that God pours out? Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all *spiritual blessings* in  *heavenly* places in Christ: The blessing that God pours out from heaven when you tithe are spiritual. A major part of it is *revelation*......the opening of your eyes to see things that are veiled or hidden. Tithing therefore connects you to a flo

YOU CARRY GENERATIONAL BLESSING, NOT CURSES

*YOU CARRY GENERATIONAL BLESSING, NOT CURSES* 1. Fathers transfer what they carry to their offsprings. "....such as I have give I unto thee" If you're a Christian, God is now your Father. Before you became a Christian you inherited whatever your ancestors carried - blessing our curses. 2. As a Christian you are now a child of God John 1. 12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation.....old things have passed away.....behold all things have become new" 2Cor 5.17 3. You carry the blessing of God and not curses God, our heavenly Father does not have any curses with Him.....so He cannot transfer curses to us His children. Ephesians 1.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, *who hath blessed us* with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: *"God is light....in Him is no darkness at all" 1John

9 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GO FOR KNOWLEDGE

*9 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD GO FOR KNOWLEDGE* Tayo Onaleye *1. God is a God of knowledge* 1Sa 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; letnot arrogancy come out of your mouth: *for the LORD is a God of knowledge,* and by him actions are weighed.  From the passage, we see that Jesus to was a man of knowledge. Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Apostle Paul was also a man of knowledge. 2Ti 4:13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, *and the books, but especially the parchments.* 1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.  2Timothy 2.15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. If our God is a God of knowledge, our Jesus was a man of knowledge and the apostles were men of knowledge, after whom would you be taking if you are devoid of knowledge? Who wou

THE GREATEST ATTRIBUTE OF LEADERSHIP

THE GREATEST ATTRIBUTE OF LEADERSHIP Tayo Onaleye The greatest attribute of a leader is LOVE. I define love as unconditional commitment to the highest good of another person. The greatest leaders are those who love the people under their watch. It is very easy to rule people without loving them.....particularly on the platform of a political office. But it is impossible to really lead them without loving them. You have no business leading people if you don't love them. You have no business leading people if you are not unconditionally committed to their highest good. You have no business occupying a political post if your agenda is not an unconditional commitment to the highest good of the people under the influence of that office. Love is a posture of the heart that seeks the highest good of another. Let us love the people under our watch. Let us love one another.

Each gives what He has

EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS Back in the days when Germany was divided, a huge wall separated East and West Berlin. One day, some people in East Berlin took a truck load of garbage and dumped it on the West Berlin side. The people of West Berlin could have done the same thing, but they didn't. Instead they took a truck load of canned goods, bread, milk and other provisions, and neatly stacked it on the East Berlin side. On top of this stack they placed the sign: *“EACH GIVES WHAT HE HAS"* How very true! You can only give what you have. What do you have inside of you? Is it hate or love? Violence or peace? Death or life? You can only give what you have.

The Father's business

*Topic:  THE FATHER'S BUSINESS* Text: Luke 2. 48, 49  48  And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.  49  And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? *wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?* Like Jesus, we must all be involved in and committed to the business of our Father in heaven. Our Father's business includes..... *1. Soul winning* Luk 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. John 3.16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Be involved in bringing the unsaved unto Jesus. *2. Discipleship* Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Be involved in developing believers into maturity in Christ. *
