The riches of your lineage

*TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING YOUR SPIRITUAL LINEAGE AND HERITAGE*

Texts: Luke 2.4

4  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because *he was of the house and lineage of David:)*

Joseph......was of *the house and lineage of David*

Psa 16:6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have *a goodly heritage.*

Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of *the household of God;*

1. As a Christian you must understand your *lineage* and *heritage.*

Through faith in Jesus you have become connected to the family of God.

John 1. 12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

You now belong to the lineage of the God of heaven

God is now your Father. And there are certain rights and privileges  (your heritage) that accompany your connection to the Father.

Your identity has changed.
You're no longer just your name, tribe or nationality.
You're now a child of the living God
You're now a fellow citizen of the kingdom of God
Your name is now in the book of life
Stop seeing yourself as an "ordinary Nigerian"
Start seeing yourself as the child and offspring of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

*2. It is a lineage of blessing*

Being in Christ also connects you to the lineage of Abraham.

Galatians 3.
13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14   *That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ;* that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3.29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

*You are connected to the blessing of Abraham.*

When you come into Christ, you get translated from the kingdom of darkness into that of light.

Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdomof his dear Son:

You have been translated from curses into blessing

*Your major job now is not breaking generational curses and going for perpetual deliverance.*

It's learning how to walk in and enforce the blessing of the kingdom

*3. Your spiritual lineage involves covenant relationships.*

Just as you can't choose your biological father or mother, you also cannot choose your spiritual shepherd.

You don't *decide* who your pastor is, you only *discover* it.

Your pastor is that man/woman God has anointed and ordained to nourish you spiritually.

Jeremiah 3.15
And *I will give you pastors* according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

You don't choose your pastors, God gives them to you.

Jer 23:4 And *I will set up shepherds over them* which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD

Your spiritual family is a divine "set up".......God does the setting up.

The shepherd sent to you feeds you.

He or she carries the revelations that build, empower, enlighten and transform you.

It's a spiritual connection.

God decides which church to plant you. He leads and directs you there. When you find your pastor your spirit connects. You are nourished there. You just know in your spirit that "this is the place."

*4. Your nourishment is guaranteed.*

John 15.
5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing

Jesus is the vine. You're a branch in Jesus. The same life of God that is in Jesus flows in you. The same quality of life. The eternal life of God. The "Zoe" life of God flows within you.

Joh 10:28 And *I give unto them eternal life;* and they shall never perish, neither shall any manpluck them out of my hand.

You have access to the fullness of God in Christ Jesus.

In Him all fullness dwells bodily.

You're in Christ. The fullness of God is in Christ. Therefore the fullness of God is in you......within your spirit.

Christ in you is the fullness of God.

*5. Stay connected to the vine.*

Abide to abound.

John 15. 4  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5.  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Maintain a vibrant flow of the eternal life Jesus deposited in your spirit by abiding in Him.

How?

.... If ye abide in me, and *my words abide in you* John 15.7

*The way to abide in Jesus is to have the Words of Jesus abide in you.*

Fill your spirit perpetually with the words of Jesus.

Soak your spirit in the Word of God.

......Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Colossians 3.16

Stay in constant flow of anointed teachings that edify you and fortify your spirit.

Success through the Holy Spirit

SUCCESS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT Tayo Onaleye I define success as  "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...." Matthew 25.21 *I define success as hearing "well done" from God.* Jesus succeeded. Concerning Him the Father said: Mat 3:17  ".......This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." How did Jesus do it? Jesus operated in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit Jesus couldn't have succeeded the way He did. The personal and ministry successes of Jesus were due to the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Acts 10.38 How *God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost* and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit then we need Him too. That is why Jesus specifically instructed the disciples not to embark upon ministry without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Luk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of m
