NEVER GIVE UP

TEXT: Luke 1.5-25
TOPIC: God is faithful

1. NEVER GIVE UP.

Luke 1.7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

Even though Zechariah and his wife Elisabeth were both old, they still had hope in God for a child. They still kept praying to God. Never give up. Don't stop praying. Don't stop expecting the best. There is hope.

Ecc 9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Never give up because the moment you give up on the inside, the game is over.

2. THERE IS NOTHING GOD CANNOT DO

God gave a child to a couple who were old people!

Luke 1.7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

Luke 1.13  But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

Romans 4.17...... God quickens the dead.

God gives life to things that appear dead and impossible. He heals the sick. He cleanses lepers. He makes the blind to see. He removes mountains. He makes beggars to inherit thrones and sit with princes. He parts red seas.....and lots more.

Luke 1.37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

There are no hopeless situations with God.

Your situation is not hopeless.

3. KEEP SERVING GOD NO MATTER YOUR CHALLENGES

Luke 1.8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course

Even though Zechariah had no children, he kept serving God. He kept ministering to God and people from his office and calling.

No matter what you are passing through, no matter how long the delay in answers to your prayers, no matter what you have or don't have, no matter your condition......Keep trusting God and serving God.

Turning your back on God is not an option. Backsliding is not the solution. Stay with God. Stay in the place of service. Keep ministering to God and people.

4. GO FOR REVELATION

Luke 1.18,19 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

19  And the angel answering said unto him (revelation), I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

A revelation is a specific word from God.

Angel Gabriel gave Zechariah a revelation concerning his childlessness. And that word from God came to pass.

What are your challenges?

What are you passing through?

What is that cause of concern in your life right now?

Seek the face of the Lord and get a revelation from Him concerning the matter.

And once you get a revelation, hold on to it tightly because it carries the power of God.

Luke 1.20 ......my words (revelation) shall be fulfilled in their season.

Isaiah 55.10,11
10  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Psalm 89.34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Jer 1:12 Then said the LORD......... I will hasten my word to perform it

Luk 1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

You will succeed in Jesus name.

Success through the Holy Spirit

SUCCESS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT Tayo Onaleye I define success as  "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...." Matthew 25.21 *I define success as hearing "well done" from God.* Jesus succeeded. Concerning Him the Father said: Mat 3:17  ".......This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." How did Jesus do it? Jesus operated in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit Jesus couldn't have succeeded the way He did. The personal and ministry successes of Jesus were due to the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Acts 10.38 How *God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost* and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit then we need Him too. That is why Jesus specifically instructed the disciples not to embark upon ministry without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Luk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of m
