1. SAVE HER
The staff herself knows it. She's out of place. It's not working. But she's doesn't have the courage to quit. Help her out. Let her go so she can move on with her life and find where she truly belongs. Don't be surprised if she turns a superstar on another team. If you've done all you could to assist her fit and it's not working......Let go of her.
2. SAVE YOURSELF
He knows he doesn't fit on your team. You know it too. But for whatever reason you're not addressing the issue head-on. You wake up at night and worry about what to do with him. You discuss him with your spouse and your friends. You've done everything in the books on assisting him but it's still not working. And you still refuse to let him go.
Save yourself some headache my dear. If it ain't working, it ain't working. Accept this reality and.....Let him go.
3. SAVE OTHERS
It's very clear to everyone on the team.....this lady doesn't fit on the team. It's very glaring. But management does nothing about it. Others carry her load. It's telling on them. Then productivity begins to decline. Resentment sets in. Other team members feel being cheated.
Don't let things deteriorate to this point. Save the rest of the team. Let the person who doesn't fit go.
4. SAVE THE ORGANISATION
Any organisation that fails to decisively deal with lack of fit has an expiry date.
