ALIGN WITH PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE YOU

TOPIC: *ALIGN WITH PEOPLE WHO INSPIRE YOU*
TEXT:  Luke 1.39-44

39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

40  And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

41  And it came to pass, that, *when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:*

42  And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

43  And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44  For, lo, *as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.*

45  And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord

*Point 1. GOD INSPIRES MAN THROUGH MAN*

Elisabeth was inspired when she heard *the voice* of Mary.

The baby in her womb leaped at the sound of the voice of Mary. V44

There was a connection in the spirit. Mary's words resonated with Elizabeth's spirit.

The Holy Spirit doesn't just inspire us from the inside, He also inspires us through the voice of other people He has anointed and sent to us to bless us.

Life is challenging so we need all the support we can get.

You need people who stir you spirit by their words.

*Point 2:  BEWARE OF DISCOURAGEMENT*

We live in a world with multiple sources of discouragement.

#Challenges can discourage you

Num 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

Pro 13:12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

#People can discourage you
Num 32:9 For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them

#The media is full of bad news that discourages.

You can't do without inspiration.

How do we handle the multiple sources of discouragement?

*Limit the influence of discouraging people*

Take note of people who pull and tear you down. Take note of people whose words depress your spirit. Take note of people who have a discouraging effect on your spirit. Limit your exposure to their words.

Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

*Limit the influence of discouraging media*
The typical news is bad news. Bad news dampens your spirit. Limit the influx of bad news into your mind and spirit.

*POINT 3: STAY CONNECTED TO INSPIRING RELATIONSHIPS*

Joh 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Inspiration is one of the signs that God has sent that messenger to bless you.

Mary inspired Elizabeth. Who inspires you?

Who is the messenger God has sent to you?

Whose messages inspire you?

Whose messages stir your spirit?

Stay connected to the messengers that inspire you.

Stay connected to the shepherd God has placed over your life.

Stay connected to the messengers who feed you with the Words of eternal life that build up your spirit.

LIFE IS ABOUT FOLLOWING

LIFE IS ABOUT FOLLOWING Tayo Onaleye Psalm 63.8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. The Christian life is a journey with the Master. It's about following Him, His agenda and pattern. 1. FOLLOW JESUS Mat 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He's the Bishop of your soul and the Great Shepherd.  He's the No.1 person to follow. We follow Jesus by following the leading of the Holy Spirit in us and the Word of God. The first calling of the disciple is not to preach but to follow. Mark 3.14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 2. FOLLOW YOUR LEADER Don't hang around a leader you refuse to follow. Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. You can't help the the fellow who refuses to follow. Hebrews 13.17 Obey them that have t...
