Bishop Oyedepo wasted my time but....

Deep calleth unto deep. Psalm 42.7 "So whenever you find yourself complaining about an apperant lack of attention from a busy person, the solution is to just go and get busy with your life and assignment." MY FIRST LESSON... --Pastor Sam Adeyemi. The first day I went to Canaanland, Ota to see Bishop David Oyedepo was a memorable one full of lessons. I had met him at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja where I first told him I wanted him to mentor me in ministry; because I needed the same grace of effortless accomplishments on his life and ministry. He had his PA give me his complimentary card, then told me to come to his office at Canaanland, Ota. I was so excited that I couldnt wait for the Independence Day National Christain Service to end at the Ecumenical Centre so I could dash home and tell my wife about my encounter with the bishop. On the appointed date, I went to Canaanland, Ota with my wife Nike to see the bishop. We waited for six hours and could not see

Oyedepo and Adeboye should sell off their jets to feed the hungry??

What's the difference between a private jet of N4.5b and car of N4.5m? Just three zeros. No big deal really unless you're playing in small waters. So.... Before you ask Bishop Oyedepo and Baba Adeboye to sell their jets and use the money to feed the hungry first sell your own car of N4.5m, buy one of N450,000 and use the N4m extra to feed the hungry. Don't pay your next rent of N1m per annum but rather move to an apartment of N500k and use the extra N500k to feed the hungry. Move your family out of that N500k 3-bedroom apartment into a N150k room-and-parlor and use the change to feed the poor. Sell your phone of N150k and buy one of N50k then use the extra N100k to feed the hungry. Take your medicine first. After YOU have downgraded your life by living on less than your level then you can make recommendations to others. Change begins with you. You too go and sell what you have to feed the hungry. Abi na only pastors suppose sell their stuff to feed t

Oyedepo, Adeboye, private jets and expensive university fees

Missionary schools vs Contemporary church schools....a perspective Tayo Onaleye While I agree that the universities being run by churches are not cheap, we need to put things in perspective and not just be emotional. Let's deal with facts and figures. These questions may help: 1. Which schools did the missionaries build? I think the missionaries stopped at secondary schools. I'm not aware the missionaries built and ran PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES FOR FREE. It appears that the overhead of a private university is astronomically high. Running diesel 24hrs. Research. Maintenance. Capital projects Lecturers salaries......etc The salary of one university lecturer can pay that of twenty primary school teachers if not more. University education is not cheap and cannot be compared with primary school. They are worlds apart. May be it was the prohibitive cost that prevented the missionaries from venturing into university education in those days.

NOT EVERYONE WILL UNDERSTAND YOUR VISION

NOT EVERYONE WILL UNDERSTAND YOUR VISION Tayo Onaleye .....for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2) Dreams and visions are the language of the Holy Spirit. When you share the vision the that Holy Spirit has planted into your spirit not everyone will understand you because you're speaking the language of the Spirit, you're emitting frequencies on the wavelength of the Spirit. Such stuff are spiritually discerned. 1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. That's the reason why Joseph's brothers couldn't understand his dreams.....Joseph was speaking "in tongues" to them. Hold on to your vision my dear. It may be tongues to others but it's your reality in the spirit. Hold on to it.

DON'T GIVE UP.....THERE'S HOPE

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Lessons from Genesis.... Genesis 21  1  And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.  2  For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. *#1. The LORD visited Sarah as he had said......He did unto Sarah as he had spoken.* He said it. He did it. What a wonderful God. What a glorious Father.  He did what He said He would do.  God is so faithful. What He has said He will do. What has He said to you? Rest on His WORD......because He will do it.  The most powerful thing in the universe is "thus saith the Lord" When God speaks all the resources of heaven and earth are mobilised  When He speaks angels hearken When He speaks the mountains move When He speaks the enemies are scattered. Oh....how sweet are His words Build your life on God's Word Build your lif

THE MASTER-KEY TO SUCCESS IN MARRIAGE

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Col 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. The Master-Key to success in marriage. C O M M U N I C A T I O N That's it. Communicate......Communicate.....Communicate Talk....Talk....Talk and keep talking. Crises in marriages are usually due to unresolved recurring decimals. The most effective tool for resolving issues is COMMUNICATION. When your spouse offends you don't keep "beef".....Talk about it. The person who initiates the conversation is the leader irrespective of the gender. So take the lead. Talk to your wife. Talk to your husband. Don't keep quiet and bottle things up. The Master taught us to agree quickly with our adversaries.....how much more with our spouses!! Mat 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly.... He also taught us to resolve issues one-on-one. Matthew 18.15  Moreover if thy brother shall tre

CONNECT TO AN APOSTOLIC GRACE

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Acts 27. 24  Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, *God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.* 34  Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: *for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.* Just as God used Moses to lift over 3 million Jews out of Egypt, Apostles have the grace to cover everyone under their watch. Every Apostolic calling carries specific grace and anointing. Certain things go with each calling. Because of Apostle Paul everyone on the ship with him was covered....they were protected because of Paul. Locate an Apostolic platform that offers something you need. Then connect with that Apostolic platform. Listen to the messages. Words transmit grace. Words transmit anointing. Whatever that Apostolic platform carries will rub off on you as you connect. It will flow towards you because you're connected. Peace unto you.

WORDS ARE THE VEHICLES OF BLESSINGS

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Lessons from Genesis 9&10 Words are the primary vehicles for the transfer of blessings. Genesis 9. 1  And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said... God blessed Noah by speaking. He did the same thing when He blessed Adam Genesis 1.28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them..... Application.... 1. Create a perpetual climate of blessing in your sphere by speaking 2. Speak words of blessing perpetually to yourself 3. Speak words of blessing perpetually over your family 4. Speak words of blessing over your business or career 5. Connect to a platform/church where words of blessing are continually being spoken. Num 6:23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise  *ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them*.... 6. As a pastor or unit leader in church perpetually speak words of blessing over the people under your watch Perpetual blessings are guaranteed in the lives of those who operate under

INCREASE YOUR MARKET VALUE.....Part 1

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Series: FINANCIAL PROSPERITY Topic: INCREASE YOUR MARKET VALUE (Part 1) Text: 2Thess 3.6-12, Tit 3:14, Rom 12:11, Proverbs 22.29 Keys to increasing your market value. *1. UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF VALUE* As a Christian, you must be firmly grounded in the basic principles of productivity. God’s agenda is for each of us to be productive and fruitful. Unfruitfulness is not part of our heritage. Genesis 1.28, John 15.8 Your income in the market place is subject to the law of demand and supply. The lower the demand for your skills, the lower your income. #In a regular business enterprise, your salary is paid from the money you helped to bring into the organization or the value your work symbolizes for the business. For example, if the company pays you a salary of N100k, it means that you have helped to bring in more than N100k into the organization for that month. Ask yourself this question: How much has my effort brought into the company thi

Faith is a risky venture

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Lessons from Genesis 12. Verse 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; ........ Verse  5  And bram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, *and all their substance that they had gathered,* and the souls that they had gotten in Haran.... Living by faith.......obeying God.....is a risky venture. But Abraham took that risk. When God told him to leave, he left......but did so very decisively...... *he left with everything he had*.....He didn't leave anything behind......so there was nothing to fall back on in His father's house. Why did Abraham leave with everything he had? Hebrews 11.15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. *So that he would not have any option of going back!* What a man of faith! Heb 11.8  By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance

LOT HAD TO GO....

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Lessons from Genesis 13... Genesis 13. 14  And the LORD said unto Abram, *after that Lot was separated from him,*...... There are certain dimensions of your destiny you will not enter as long as "Lot" is in your life. What/who is the "Lot" in your life? To Abraham Lot was a symbol of strife. Lot brought strife into Abraham's life. Until Lot was separated from Abraham God couldn't take Abraham to the next level of his destiny. Avoid strife by every means. Strife stifles the ministration of the Holy Spirit. Phi 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory.... Because.... Jas 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. And..... 1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.... Psa 85:8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, Because God speaks through peace, the Holy Spirit will not be able to del

RISE ABOVE BETRAYAL....

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Lessons from Genesis 14. Genesis 14. 14  And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan...... 16   *And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods* This is so touching..... Lot left Abraham on platter of strife. In fact, Lot was very rude to Abraham while leaving. Abraham was old enough to be Lot's father but yet Abraham deferred to Lot and asked Lot to choose first. Stupidly, Lot chose ahead of Abraham. That was very rude and very stupid. And also very greedy too. This Lot was riding on the blessing of Abraham and yet he didn't have enough sense to defer to Abraham when there was strife. Despite all these......  14  And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued

CULTIVATE RELATIONSHIPS.....intentionally

Tayo Onaleye, Nation Builder Lessons from Genesis 14 CULTIVATE RELATIONSHIPS Verse 13 BBE And one who had got away from the fight came and gave word of it to Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the holy tree of *Mamre, the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and Aner, who were friends of Abram.....*  24  ...... *the men which went with me,* Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre Abraham had friends......Aner, Eschcol and Mamre. So in the day of battle.....when he needed to rescue Lot.....Abraham simply called upon his friends.....and they followed him. I think that is simply amazing! *Abraham's friends followed him to a battle at the risk of their lives!!* This speaks volumes about the type of person Abraham was. Do you have friends or are you a lone ranger in life? Who are your friends? Will they follow you to a battle at the risk of their lives? The only reason Abraham's friends would have followed him to a battle is because he had followed *them* to a battle before

PEOPLE....GREATEST JOY, GREATEST PAIN

Tayo Onaleye Lessons from Genesis... PEOPLE....GREATEST JOY, GREATEST PAIN Relationships are crucial to life. Your greatest joys will come from relationships....so will your greatest pains. Lot and Hagar caused a lot of pain to the family of Abraham. But his friends also supported him in no small way in the day of battle. So we can't do without people. Some will give you joy, others pain. The trustworthy staff who is a key player to the productivity of your organisation.....and the Judas who betrays you with a kiss. It's all part of the journey. But as we mature on this journey of life.... You get wiser and become more discrete. You learn that, like the brothers of Joseph, not everybody can handle the dimensions of your future. You learn to be selective. There are three compartments to your life: the outer court, inner court and holy-of-holies. Not everyone belongs to the inner court of your life. Disaster, betrayal and pain become inevitab

SUBMISSION TO CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY

Tayo Onaleye Genesis 16. 9  And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. Hagar had issues with her employer, Sarah, and Hagar ran away. God spoke to Hagar to return to her employer and submit. Ecc 10:4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee,  leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences. 1. The God of the BIBLE is a God of order and is not the author of confusion or disorder. 1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 2. Everyone is under one form of authority or the other. Luk 7:8  For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go,and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth There are 4 basic forms of authority to the believer: a. Civil or government......govt/political leaders b. Corporate/enterprise......business/vocational leaders c. Famil

YOUR SINS ARE OF NO CONSEQUENCE IF......

Tayo Onaleye                         Your sins are of no consequence..... .....if you have obtained forgiveness by the blood of Jesus. Of course I don't mean that sin has no consequence. The wages of sin is death. Romans 6.23 But once the blood of Jesus has cleansed you of the sin guilt should no longer have any power over you. So my focus here is on dealing with GUILT. Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 1 John 1. 9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Isa 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Isa 44:22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times

HOLY SPIRIT AND MONEY......Part 2

Tayo Onaleye In every move of the Spirit, money is always used as a tool. #1. When God led the Israelis out of Egypt He loaded them with loads of cash....gold Psalm 105.37  He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Genesis 15. 14  And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. #2. When Moses built the tabernacle it gulped loads of gold (money) Exodus 25. 8  And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.  9  According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.  11  And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about. #3. When Solomon built the temple it gulped loads of cash. 1Kings 6.21  So Solomon overlaid the house within w

HOLY SPIRIT AND MONEY.....Part 1

Tayo Onaleye Winning souls for Jesus is primarily the work of the Holy Spirit.....in partnership with His sent messengers. The Holy Spirit uses money as a tool in that business of soul winning. Haggai 2. 8  The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. It takes money to print Bibles. It takes money to publish evangelism materials. It takes money to do publicity. It takes money to arrange the logistics of a program. It takes money to send and sustain missionaries. It takes money to take care of the needy in the congregation and community. It takes money to keep weekly programs running. It takes money to go beyond Jerusalem unto the uttermost parts of the earth. Indeed.....it takes prosperity to spread the influence of God's kingdom. Zechariah 1. 17  Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad.... THE VOICE OF A POOR CHURCH OR MINISTER WILL NOT BE HEARD beyond cer

7 THINGS YOU MUST BELIEVE ABOUT PROSPERITY

FINANCIAL PROSPERITY: THE MINDSET AND MENTALITY OF PROSPERITY  2Co 9:8  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: Pro 23:7  For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he….. Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…... Your mentality creates your reality. Your life inevitably moves in the direction of your most dominant thoughts. You attract what you believe. To experience financial prosperity your mentality about wealth must be on the same frequency with God. Poverty is often as a result of poverty mentality. The mentality of poor people is very different from that of wealthy people. You must deliberately work on your mentality and align with God’s Word. 7 THINGS YOU MUST BELIEVE ABOUT PROSPERITY 1. Prosperity is the original and unchanging will of God. Gen 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them

STAY IN YOUR PLACE

* STAY IN YOUR PLACE......FOLLOW THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT * Tayo Onaleye ****************** Caveat: The aim of this piece is not to castigate our beloved Apostle. No. I hold him in very high esteem. But there are one or two things we can learn from his trip to Jerusalem. Romans 15.4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. ***************** From three different sources the apostle Paul was warned not to go to Jerusalem. * 1. He had uneasiness in his own spirit. * Act 20:22 And now, behold, * I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, * not knowing the things that shall befall me there: * 2. Some believers warned him. * Act 21:4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: * who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. * * 3. A prophet warned him. * Acts 21. 11  And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and boun

GREAT FATHER, NONENTITY CHILDREN

"DON'T LEAVE THEM BEHIND" ©Opeyemi Akintunde Gershom was the first son of  Moses,  but we never really  heard much about him. This is as a result  of one of the mistakes made by great men. Most great men leave their children behind,  they train other men's children. They unconsciously invest in their young,  uneducated errand boys who go about with them. Little do the  great men know,  that while their children  are at home watching TV,  the uneducated young errand boy that goes around with them is understudying and learning the keys to Sucess and greatness. Little do the wives know that as the house girls stay in the kitchen and the kids sit in the living room watching TV,  they are empowering the uneducated village girl,  and leaving their children behind. Little does the pastor  know,  that as he goes to church investing in other people's children,  and he doesn't sit daily  with his children discussing the word of God,  is like a man  who is repairing

BIG SALARY IS NO IMMUNITY TO FINANCIAL FAILURE

WHY MANY WELL-PAID EMPLOYEES WILL STILL END UP BROKE Copied from 'Doctors' blog From my personal experience, observation and research, I have discovered that there are certain mistakes many well-paid employees that make them go broke after working for many years. These mistakes have remained the same over the years. These mistakes are avoidable. Because of the recession, a lot of employees are currently agitating an increase in their salary as the salary they currently earn is no longer enough to take care of their expenses. But as long as they are already making these mistakes, they will still end up BROKE, even if the salary is increased. If you have been “BROKE” before, you’ll agree with me that it is not a funny place to be. So, I think it will be a good idea for you to take this information seriously, and save yourself the pain of being broke. I have made some of these mistakes myself, and today, I am still facing some of the consequences. MISTAKE 1: Many well-paid em
