Topic: The Power of prayer
There is great power in prayer when we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.
Prayer in the name of Jesus does the following...
1. It opens the heavens
Luke 3.21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
2. It changes you from within
Luk 9:29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
Prayer changes your heart.
3. It moves the hand of God
Proverbs 21. 1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, asthe rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
4. It releases your faith
Mark 11.24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receivethem, and ye shall have them.
5. It releases tremendous power
James 5.16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much
6. It releases miracles
James 5.15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
7. It builds up your spirit
Jude v. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your
most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
8. It brings deliverance
Acts 16. 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
Acts 12. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came uponhim, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
