Topic: The attributes of the Holy Spirit

*Point 1. The Holy Spirit is a person*

Just like the Father and Jesus, the Holy Spirit has the attributes of a person.

He speaks.....

Acts 13. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, *the Holy Ghost said,* Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Acts 8. 29 Then *the Spirit said* unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

He has emotions

Eph 4:30 And *grieve not the holy Spirit of God,* whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

*Point 2. The Holy Spirit is God*

God is three persons in one.

The Father is God.

The Holy Spirit is God.

Jesus is God.

This is a divine mystery that we receive by faith.

A. The Holy Spirit is eternal

Hebrews 9.14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through *the eternal Spirit* offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

B. He is omnipresent

Psalm 139.7-10
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

*Point 3. The Holy Spirit lives in the human spirit*

1Cor. 3.16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that *the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?*

Joh 14:17 Even *the Spirit* of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and *shall be in you.*

*Point 4. He is the CEO of God's agenda on the earth*

Acts 1.8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

John 14.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

*Point 5. He is the representative of God and Jesus on the earth*

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Joh 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
