10 PRINCIPLES OF INVESTING

10 PRINCIPLES OF INVESTING
Tayo Onaleye

*1. If you don't have investments you don't have a financial future.*
Saving money is only the starting point, the foundation for building wealth.  Saving money alone will not make you wealthy. Be frugal but not cheap. You must invest your savings.

*2. Define your investment objectives*
Pro 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:
What exactly do you want to achieve through the investment?

*3. Investigate before you invest.*
The first thing that God did in creating the earth was the introduction of light into the earth space. Let there be light before you invest. Research the vehicle or platform before you invest. Acquire knowledge in that area first. Invest in what you know.
Putting your money in the hands of "professionals" without learning about what they're investing your money into is a form of mental laziness.
The learning you acquire in the process of investing is more important than the money you make. What you learn creates what you earn. To earn more make effort to learn more.
The more mental work you put into your investments, the higher your return should be.

*4. Focus your investments*
Mat 6:22 .....if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Phi 3:13 .....but this one thing I do....
In the beginning, don't scatter your investments in multiple directions. Focus first. Be fruitful before you multiply.
Put all your eggs in one basket, then watch and pay over that basket

*5. Diversify your investments*
Ecclesiastes 11. 2  Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
As your investment grows, diversify into multiple platforms.

*6. Automate your investing*
This is one of the finest pieces of counsel you can get on investing. Make your investing automatic. Put yourself into a structure that compels you to invest regularly, come rain, come shine.
Take investing beyond the realm of emotions. If you invest only when you feel like you won't have much investments.
One of the best ways to automate your investing is to join an investment club or a cooperative through which investing becomes automatic for you.

*7. Avoid "get-rich-quick" schemes*
If it seems too good to be true, it is.
There's no free lunch anywhere. Any scheme that doesn't create verifiable value through products and services is a scam and is bound to fail. Avoid them.

*8. Invest for the long term*
With enough sophistication you can make a lot of money through short term investments or speculations. But this won't work for most people.
Studies have shown that the wealthiest people usually have long time frames when making investment decisions while most poor people use short time frames while investing.
Don't wait to invest, invest and wait.

*9. Don't follow the crowd* .
Exo 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil.....
Don't invest in a platform because everybody is investing in it.

*10. Deploy spiritual technologies*
Don't only research and study before you invest. PRAY.
Pray before you invest.
Pray for direction
Psa 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Proverbs 3.5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Isa 48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Pray for the Lord to open your eyes to good investment opportunities.
Jeremiah 33. 3  Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
1Cor 2. 9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Pray so that you don't fall prey to scams.
Pro 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Pray before you invest so that you will not end up pitching your tent towards Sodom like Lot who made investment decisions without praying.
Gen 13:12..... and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom
Hold on and don't invest if you have unrest in your spirit. Follow your inner witness.
Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts....
Psa 85:8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people....
You're blessed in Jesus name.

LIFE IS ABOUT FOLLOWING

LIFE IS ABOUT FOLLOWING Tayo Onaleye Psalm 63.8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. The Christian life is a journey with the Master. It's about following Him, His agenda and pattern. 1. FOLLOW JESUS Mat 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He's the Bishop of your soul and the Great Shepherd.  He's the No.1 person to follow. We follow Jesus by following the leading of the Holy Spirit in us and the Word of God. The first calling of the disciple is not to preach but to follow. Mark 3.14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 2. FOLLOW YOUR LEADER Don't hang around a leader you refuse to follow. Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. You can't help the the fellow who refuses to follow. Hebrews 13.17 Obey them that have t...
