NURTURE THE SPIRIT OF LOVE

By Tayo Onaleye
Unforgiveness is a spirit.
Love is a spirit.
The one you nurture dominates.
What comes out of an orange when squeezed reveals the content of the orange.
What comes out of you during crisis is a revelation of the content of your spirit. The crisis only squeezed it out.
If bitterness flows out of you when offended it's only a revelation that there's bitterness in your spirit.
The offence merely squeezed it out.
On the cross, in the pain and anguish of death, what came out of Jesus was, "Father forgive them" Luke 23.34
Bitterness couldn't come out of Jesus because it wasn't in Him.
He was being stoned to death and yet what came out of Stephen was, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge" Acts 7.36
Like Jesus, what flowed out of the spirit of Stephen was forgiveness even in the face of death.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Take time to cultivate the spirit of love.
One day at a time.
One challenge or offence at a time.
One relationship at a time.
The love of God has been shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit.
Nurture that love till it dominates you.
Give no room to bitterness, hatred, animosity, malice and unforgiveness. Don't nurture them.
Peace

LIFE IS ABOUT FOLLOWING

LIFE IS ABOUT FOLLOWING Tayo Onaleye Psalm 63.8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. The Christian life is a journey with the Master. It's about following Him, His agenda and pattern. 1. FOLLOW JESUS Mat 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He's the Bishop of your soul and the Great Shepherd.  He's the No.1 person to follow. We follow Jesus by following the leading of the Holy Spirit in us and the Word of God. The first calling of the disciple is not to preach but to follow. Mark 3.14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 2. FOLLOW YOUR LEADER Don't hang around a leader you refuse to follow. Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. You can't help the the fellow who refuses to follow. Hebrews 13.17 Obey them that have t...
