THE POWER OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Today we shall be looking at the power of praying in tongues

1. It builds you up

It builds you up on the inside.

It builds up your spirit man.

It renews and refreshes you.

Jude verse 20  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost

1Corin 14.4   He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

2. You pronounce deep secrets of God

When you speak in tongues, utterances emanate from deep down in your spirit. These utterances are from the Holy Spirit who is within you. You are actually pronouncing the mind of God when you speak in tongues.

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

1Cor 14. 2  For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

1Cor 2.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

When you speak in tongues you utter the deep things of God. You utter the perfect will of God. You upload the counsel of God into your spirit and subsequently your mind.

3. It mobilizes angels

Speaking in tongues also sometimes mobilizes angels. The deep things of God you utter send signals to angels and puts them to work to carry out God's agenda.

Psa 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

4. It sorts things out in your spirit. It brings clarity into your spirit.

Speaking in tongues helps bring clarity into your spirit.

You are not permitted to be confused.

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Speaking in tongues brings light and illumination into your spirit.

It enlightens you

Psa 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

Are you confused about a particular matter? Pray in tongues concerning that matter. Praying on tongues will birth clarity in your spirit.

You will just know what to do.

It will become clear. There will be an assurance in your spirit that, yes, this is it.

5. It brings boldness

The Holy Spirit gives us boldness.

2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a soundmind.

Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

When you pay in tongues, you stir up the move of the Spirit within you. This comes with boldness.

Timidity vanishes.

Fear disappears.

2Ti 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

There is tremendous power in your spirit. Stir it up by praying in tongues.

Success through the Holy Spirit

SUCCESS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT Tayo Onaleye I define success as  "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...." Matthew 25.21 *I define success as hearing "well done" from God.* Jesus succeeded. Concerning Him the Father said: Mat 3:17  ".......This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." How did Jesus do it? Jesus operated in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit Jesus couldn't have succeeded the way He did. The personal and ministry successes of Jesus were due to the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Acts 10.38 How *God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost* and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit then we need Him too. That is why Jesus specifically instructed the disciples not to embark upon ministry without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Luk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of m
