MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Jesus couldn't do without the Holy Spirit.

He commanded us too to ensure that we do the work He has committed into our hands through the help of the same Holy Spirit.

So we need to understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

*Point 1:  Salvation*

Salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit in the human spirit. Without the Holy Spirit nobody can get saved.

The Holy Spirit convicts the sinner and draws him to Jesus.

Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

John 3. 5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, *Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.*

Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy *he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;*

The Holy Spirit creates a new spirit in our hearts at the point is salvation.

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and *a new spirit will I put within you:* and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,  *he is a new creature:* old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

*Point 2: Assurance of salvation*

The Holy Spirit confirms our salvation within us by giving us a silent inner assurance that we are saved. It is a deep inner knowing associated with inner peace. The Holy Spirit imparts the assurance of salvation to our spirits.

Rom 8:16  *The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit,* that we are the children of God:

1Jn 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. *And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.*

*Point 3. Revelation*

Ephesians 1.17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you *the spirit of wisdom and revelation* in the knowledge of him.     18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,      19  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

A major work of the Holy Spirit is giving revelations to the saints. He reveals things to us.

*Revelation is about removing the veil that is covering something. It is an unveiling.*

The Holy Spirit unveils things to us.

He unveils the WORD of God.

He unveils Jesus.

He unveils the wisdom and agenda of God. We all strongly need this ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, iscome, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and *he will shew you things to come.*

1Cor 2. 9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  10   *But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:* for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

*Point 4: Leading*

The Holy Spirit leads us. He directs and guides us.

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Act 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate meBarnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Luke 4. 1  And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and *was led by the Spirit* into the wilderness,

*Point 5. Miracles and divine interventions*

The miracles in the ministry of Jesus were by the Holy Spirit

Mat 12:28 But if *I cast out devils by the Spirit of God,* then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Acts 10.38  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Zechariah 4.6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, *but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts*

*Point 6: Help in prayer*

The Holy Spirit helps us in prayer.

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered

*Point 7: Comfort*

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

The Holy Spirit births the joy of God in our spirits.

He comforts us in times of trials and battles.

2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

*Point 8: Teaching*

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, *he shall teach you all things,* and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

*Point 9: Inner strength*

Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be  *strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;*

*Point 10: Anointing for service*

Acts 10.38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Acts 1.8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Isaiah 10.27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and *the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing*

*Point 11: Spiritual gifts*

The Holy Spirit empowers each believer with spiritual gifts.

1 Corinthians 12.  1  Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Verse 4  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit

*Point 12: Spiritual fruits*

The Holy Spirit works within us using the Word of God to mold us into the image and likeness of Christ.

He forms the character of Christ in us.

He births the fruits of spirit within us.

Success through the Holy Spirit

SUCCESS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT Tayo Onaleye I define success as  "Well done, thou good and faithful servant...." Matthew 25.21 *I define success as hearing "well done" from God.* Jesus succeeded. Concerning Him the Father said: Mat 3:17  ".......This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." How did Jesus do it? Jesus operated in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit Jesus couldn't have succeeded the way He did. The personal and ministry successes of Jesus were due to the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Acts 10.38 How *God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost* and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit then we need Him too. That is why Jesus specifically instructed the disciples not to embark upon ministry without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Luk 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of m
